I love travelling; it's great to see new places every year. Malta doesn't have mountains, lakes, rivers and that sort of natural beauty, so it's really amazing to see them abroad. The ironic thing is that I'm quick to forget every place I visit.
Last year I went to southern France (the French Riviera), and was based in Nice. Among the cities/towns I visited were Nice (obviously), Cannes, Sanremo (Italy), Ventimiglia (Italy), Menton, Monte Carlo (twice - once in the morning and once by night), Eze, Antibes, Grasse, St. Paul de Vence, St. Maxime, St. Tropez, Valberg and Entreveaux.
Finally having a digital camera, I took over 600 photos (keeping slightly less than 400). Below are just a few of my best ones. Click on the thumbnails to view large versions, or move your mouse over the thumbnails to see a description of the photo.
This year I went to Northern Italy, where there are the Dolomite mountains, providing picturesque scenery ideal for any amateur photographer. This time I went prepared for photos with a spare battery for my camera and three times as much memory as last year. I made sure to fill up that memory, taking a total of 1250 photos, and keeping over 1100. Below are a selection of the best photos. Note that none have been edited in any way; any 'special effects' are purely coincidental and are due to conditions of light at the time the photo was taken.
So far I've been to the following places:
